Method:

Equipment
  • Blind fold
  • Mystery food
Instructions:

  1. Get your equipment
  2. Wash your hand
  3. Put on a blind fold
  4. Put your hand and pinch your nose.
  5.  Eat the food and guess what it is.
  6. Release your nose and taste the food.
  7. Where does the food react on your tongue.
Results:

Suagr:Food#1. Tasted like sugar when I pinch my nose and tasted like sugar when I unpinched my nose. There was no difference

Salt:Food#2. Tasted like salt when I pinch my nose and tasted like salt still when I unpinch my nose. There was no difference.

Baking Powder:Food#3. Tasted salty but it's actually baking powder. When I unpinch my nose it tasted more salty.

Citric Acid:Food#4. When I pinch my nose and ate it it doesn't taste that bad. When I unpinch my nose it tasted more worse and I tasted it on the back of my tounge.

Sour Lolly:Food#5. When I pinch my nose and ate it it didn't taste that sweet and sour. When I unblocked my nose It tasted more sweet and soury.

Burger ring:Food#6. When I pinch my nose the taste isn't that good in my mouth but when I unblocked my nose it tasted more better.

Dry Marshmellow:Food#7. I could taste it more when I unpinch my nose

Apple:Food#8 Tasted more again when I unpinch my nose.

Gummy bear: Food#9. Tasted more sweet when I unpinch my nose.

Pear: Food#9. Didn't taste it when I pinch my nose. I tasted it when I unpinch my nose.

Dairy Milk: Food#10.Tasted more sweet when I unpinch my nose

Lemon Rind: Food#11. Tasted the same, Both sour when I pinch my nose and unpinch it.

Discussion:

Is there a difference between blocked and Unblocked nose taste? Yes
Why? The upper part of your nose  has a olfactory receptor that tells your brain the flavor and to create a flavor.  The olfactory receptor is located at the nasal cavity and when the smell of the food get there that's when you will taste the food.

Did the sweet, bitter, sour salt, tastes react on different parts of your tongue? Yes
Where? The bitter one is at the back of my tongue. The sweet taste is at the front of my tongue. The sour taste is at the side of my tongue.

It was actually not that hard to do. We had to write out which is the background, foreground and middle ground. We had to write out what a foreground, background and middle ground means.

Here is the picture.
