Mex Mince/ Nachos

 Hi guys,

Welcome back to my blog today im going to tell you what we made in food/cooking. 

The food we cooked  is Mex Mince/ Nachos. We made the Nachos in a group and my group was Ropata, Hunter and me. 

We made the nachos with teamwork, the teamwork was good. All three of us had something to do. Ropata heated the sauce and me and Hunter prepared the bowls and fork

Recipe and method:

You could make the mex mince with corn chips, pita bread and tortillas. The vegetable needs to diced.

After we made all of the sauce and vegetables. We putted our bowls on our table then Mrs Hindson putted the corn chips in the bowl. Then we putted the sauce, cheese and the cream. I putted it in my container and ate a little bit of it in my container. It was really yummy.

Communication challenge

 Hi guys,

So today Iam going to tell you what we've doing in Science. What we have been doing in Science is the communication challenge. 

The communication challenge is where you get in a pair and pick what type of communication you pair are going to do. Their are three option the three options are, Flag signal, Morse code and the hexadecimal code.

How do you do the communication challenge? First you get into four group or two groups and you pick your communication type. Once you have done that you write it into the paper what sign you do for each letter. You get on the field with your paper and choose who the sender and the receiver will be. The receiver will go at the end of the field and the sender will be given a piece of paper and try to communicate what it says on the paper by using your hexadecimal code, flag signals or the Morse code. Then the receiver will write it to your paper. If the sender try to shout it to the receiver the receiver will not hear it because you are at least 300 meters away from each other.

What communication type did we do? We chose the Hexadecimal code. Hexadecimal code is where you make your own code like letter A will be left hand up and Letter B will be right hand up. Did the other pair decode your signal correctly? No because he didn't get what to do. Did you decode their signal correctly? No because he was doing what code we did in the paper not the paper piece that was given to him.

Hurumanu 1

 Hi guys,

Welcome back to my blog so today in hurumanu 1 im  going to write what I already know about gold mining and  discrimination.

Gold mining is where people dig where they think the gold is. Then they dig a big hole and start digging. Some of the miners die because their could be rocks that fall at their head or the hole  might collapse. They have a place where they sleep. When they search gold on the water they used like a square thing with holes. Then they get the rock  under the  water and shake the square thing. Then they will look at the square thing and see if their is any gold in  it. Gold can be find underground or on a river.

I don't know anything about discrimination.

School holiday

 Hi guys,

Welcome back to my blog, so today I am going to talk about what i did in the school holidays.

After our last day of term 3 we had basketball after school. On Saturday and Sunday we went to Omarama and went to clay cliffs. We stayed in a hotel and left on Sunday. On Sunday we went to mt Cook we went on the hooker valley track at the end I saw an iceberg. On our way home we stopped on Ashburton and ate KFC. When we arrived at our house we were very tired and we slept.After that I did Gardening and played basketball. Then I cleaned our car and on Sunday we went to a Filipino mass.

Market day sales

Hi guys, 

Welcome back to my blog and today in Hurumanu 6 I am going to answer some question about the market day. First of all market day is where students make products and sell them to adults and students. Adults will be able to come on market day sales. When your product finish you count the money you made and count how many profit you made. The buyers will not use real money their will be a bank and change your real money to papers. We did market day on 23rd of September. It was on Wednesday

What would you change for next time? I would change the product we made because it took so long to make our product and almost only the adults liked it.

How much did it cost to make your product? It cost us $10.75 to make the product.

How much did you borrow? We borrowed $10.75.

How much money did you make on market day sale? We made $69.50 in market day.

What was your total profit? Our profit was $58.75.

Was this what you expected? Yes because we didn't sell much cushion we only sold 12 or 13 of our product.

What could have influenced this? We did well because our product was good for adults. They use our cushion for their cars or buy them for their kids.

My writing and drawing

 Hi guys,

So for the past few weeks we have been working on our heroes and villain writing and drawing.Before we make our story first we planned it. We need to  describe our hero and villain then we put were the story will take place. My story takes place in an scary abandoned church and their will be a demon inside the church. The hero will be a priest and an guy that lives in a town.

This is my story.

One day it was really  cold. James, who lived in a town that had run out of

wood for his chimney.  He decided to go to a forest  tomorrow to chop some trees.

The next day, James woke up at 7:00am and got ready to go to a forest that had many trees.

He started walking his way to the  forest with his axe and cart wearing shorts and T-shirt.

He put on a  jacket that was in his cart, to prevent any insects annoying him. 

As he was walking he noticed that it was getting darker and darker as soon as he got

closer to the forest.  A minute later he arrived at the forest. It was a really creepy scary

forest. He looked around and saw scary  black birds  with sharp beaks flying around the forest.

He  could feel the strong wind blowing at his face. It was a really windy day, branches were waving

and leaves were flying everywhere. The trees were old and tall.  

He tied a rope at the tree that  he was chopping so  it wouldn't fall on him.

He started chopping the trees with his sharp red axe. While he was cutting the

trees it suddenly turned really cold. It was like he was in Antarctica. He grabbed his

thick black jacket and put it on.  A minute later he finished cutting his first tree and it

got really dark. He found a lost old lamp on his cart.  He turned it on and when he turned it on

he saw something flying around on the bush. It was like a ghost flying around. He didn’t want to

come and look because he needs to finish cutting his tree. A minute later he started getting tired

and cut  one last tree.

As he was cutting the last wood he felt the ground rumbling and an earthquake came.

He  crawled under his cart and hid there. When the earthquake stopped he stayed underneath

the cart for a few minutes to see if there was going to be another one. 

A minute later he went back to cut the last tree. When he was cutting the last tree,

he heard a scream, “ahhhhhh! Help meeeeeee!”. 

He followed where the scream came from and ran like a rocket

launching to space. Three minutes later he found a church. The church looked pretty old.

There was some crack around the church walls. He looked around the church and saw blood and

some bodies cut in half. The bodies were as smelly  as rotten food mixed together.

He was terrified of what he was seeing and he slowly and quietly walked back.

Bang! He saw a body thrown up the sky and the head was chopped off and blood went

flying at his face.  Snap! He accidentally stepped on a branch while he was walking back.

He ran like he was about to beat Usain Bolt’s 100 metres record . He got to his house  and

was so exhausted his hand was shaking he tried to sleep but he was still thinking about what

happened. The next morning he was still thinking about what happened to him yesterday. 

So he told his neighbors and his neighbors spread it. It got to the news now everyone knows

about it.

When it got to the news it started spreading around the world until everyone

knew about it. So  the presidents immediately called some of the priests that hunted

demons but the priest they called didn't want to because they knew that evil spirit was really

strong. 

They could feel the energy blazing through their skin and they didn't want to die.

One week  later they found a priest that really hunts evil spirits or demons and is brave

enough to fight the demon they call him demon hunter or Carl. They asked him to go to

James’s house and James would show him where it is so he went on a plane and went to

James country he found James house and asked him James where he found the church and

dead body. James agreed to take him there and they prepared for the journey they took holy

water and crossed. 

James started walking to the forest with the priest/ Demon Hunter.

A minute later Carl can feel the energy through his skin. It feels like his skin was

getting cut. 5 minute later they found the forest and Carl could feel the energy cutting

through his skin. It was like his skin was cut by a chainsaw. Carl entered the forest but James

didn't want to but Carl begged him to come with him James finally agreed . 

They entered the forest, saw the trees cut off and fresh red blood on the ground;

they followed the path and found the church. The church changed some more, cracks

appeared and birds died on the ground. Carl felt the energy at his skin and James was

really scared to go inside. They slowly silently walked inside the church.  Bang! A piece of brick

fell from the top. When they looked around James and Carl was terrified they saw blood and

body in half everywhere some body was hanging at the top of the church. They started walking

at the scary hallway with a  cross in  their hands. As they were walking at the hallway they saw

crosses in half  and holy water dripping. When they arrived where the priest sits they saw a big

hole beside it. Carl knew the demon came from there and he knew that the demon will be

somewhere in the church. He told James to be always active and to keep his eyes open. 

Carl had an idea to make the demon come out. He told James to keep

praying and don’t stop praying. A minute of praying the church rumbled, there

were rocks falling and the chairs were breaking. It got really hot. It was like you were

in a crater on an active volcano. The Demon came out of the hole there were flames going

around his body he had ripped his shirt. His eyes were red as a lava and his face looked like the

person that will make you suffer for the rest of your life. RRRRRRAHHHH! He got so mad and

threw flames around the church. Carl was throwing holy water at him but it seems like it does

nothing to him. The demon approaches Carl and James. Carl and James slowly walk backwards.

They could feel the fire burning their skin even if they were far away. 

They got so sweaty and the furniture that the demon was walking past was melting like an

ice cream. Carl keeps on throwing holy water on the demon but it still is not working. 

The concrete that the demon was stepping at had his feet mark on the ground. When

James and Carl hitted the wall  of the church James quickly thought of a plan. He grabbed

one of Carl's holy water and ran and threw holy water at the demon. Now the demon is

distracted Carl quickly puts holy water on his body while running away and on his sharp big cross.

When James was at the corner of the church Carl ran as fast as he could  to the demon and

stabbed him with his cross. Then Carl took the cross out and poured the bottle of holy

water on his hand inside the demon’s body. The demon started getting weak until it

turned to dust. Carl had some burns on his skin when he stabbed the demon. The holy water

he poured on him protected him from getting burnt much.

 THE DEMON”S EVILNESS WAS FINALLY OVER AND JAMES AND CARL WAS

GIVEN A BRAVERY MEDAL. James happily  lived with Carl in a big house.

Basketball Therapy

So today in Hurumanu 2 we are going to talk about my monolog that I chose the monolog that  I chose is basketball therapy.

So my character has a mom and sister. He ha a cousin named Arnie he's father is dead. He's favorite sport is basketball and his favorite NBA player is Jeremy Lin. He like 16 years old and he likes watching Jeremy Lin play basketball in the NBA. He and his father likes talking about basketball and Jeremy Lin.

Hurumanu 2

Hi guys,

Welcome back to my blog and I am going to tell you what we did in Hurumanu 2/Drama. So what we did in drama was we played some games that will require teamwork and active listening. The games that we played are chardes which we pick a card and we do the action word or the items that says  in the card. Then the people will try and guess what the item or the action word. The second game we played was 7 up this game was you need to count 1 to 7 and if the number 7 lands on you need to say 7 up and point it to someone in the circle. Then the guy you pointed to,starts at 1 again and point at the person he wants and carry on until they reached seven. if you respond too late you sit down and your eliminated. The last game we played was copy circle you go on a circle and our teacher Mrs Clark will pick a leader and one person have to guess who is the leader. But the guy that will guess will be going in a room so he/she can't see who the chosen leader is.

Week 2

This week we played a game called machine the game is a teamwork game. You need to make a machine and the audition will guess what machine you made. After we need to find a monologue and answer some question, my monologue is basketball therapy the genre is comedy and the author is Gabriel Davis.

Did I expect my top 5 character strength?
 Love? I kind of expect it on my top 5 because I answered some question that involve love.
Gratitude? I expected that it would come because i'm grateful and appreciate things.
 Honesty? I did expect it  because I say what really happened but sometimes lie too.
Kindness? I would expect it somewhere at 6 to 10 but not in top 5 because sometimes I don't think about others that I don't really know.
Judgment? I thought it would be on 10 to 20 because sometimes I don't really have an open mind.

Love
I've shown it when I was listening to the teacher.
Gratitude- I appreciate thing that I have.
Honesty - I've shown it when I told the truth to someone.
Kindness- I've shown this when I was caring about someone who got hurt.
Judgment- I've shown this when I was making sure someone was right.

This strength is important to have because if you don't have this strength no one will like you because you don't care about them which is kindness.

Social Media/Body Image

Welcome back, So today where going to talk about what we did in Hurumanu 6/Healthy lifestyle. So what we have been learning is about social media and body image. We were talking about people taking photos of them self trying to look good so they get likes. The things that I learned is that it takes them so long to take a photo like in Magazine.Because they need to make the model look good and they need to photo shop it. They make people feel  bad about them self because people will think that the people that are in the photos look perfect then them. In magazine they put some words like if they buy the clothes they will look perfect.They add picture of models wearing that clothes and they Photoshop it and make the model more beautiful before they took a photo. They make the mannequin body perfect and put their top trends clothes on the mannequin. That will make people buy them because it looks good on the mannequin so they think it will look good at them too. They take professional photographers and it takes them like many shots to get the perfect photo. Some photos at social media are fake.

Healthy Lifestyle

Welcome back so today we are doing Hurumanu 6/ Healthy Lifestyle. Were going to talk about some healthy food and none- healthy food. How many sugar,Calories and Sodium in a food.

How many sugar you need a day? Men should only have 9 teaspoon a day (  36 grams or 150 calories.

How many protein you need a day? A man need 56 grams of protein a day and a woman need 46 protein a day.

The thing that are included in a food package are Name and description of the product
Net weight, Date mark, Ingredient list., Nutrition information panel,Allergy warning or Allergen declaration, Name and address, Country of origin.


The drinks that contain many sugar is fizzy drink. In a 340 grams of coke their is 39 grams of sugar.

Welcome back to my blog. Today im going to tell you what we did in Hurumanu 6/ Math and Healthy lifestyle. This week we have been learning of how many sugars in a drink. We wrote out of what we think of how many teaspoon of sugar a drink have. Some of the drinks we wrote out is fizzy drinks, Energy drinks and  Powdered drinks. First I thought Energy drinks has less than 10 sugar in it but it has 14 teaspoon. We have to put the teaspoon of sugar in a drink we chose. We put the sugar in a zip lock and put it on the drink we chose. We are in groups too and this is my group.

Making biltong

Hi guys,

Welcome back, today i'm going to show you what we did in Hurumanu 3.

In science, We made biltong in science. First we wrote what we think the salt will do to the meat. Second we searched up on google   of what is going to happen if you put salt on the raw meat and we copied the linked and paste it on the slide. Then we have to make the link short. We write the information we read from google shorter and in our words. After that we search how to make biltong and write the material you need to make biltong. Then you write how to make it step by step.

Making the biltong:
First our teacher cut the raw meat into small stripes. Second we get it from here and put it back to our table. After that we take turn on sprinkling the meat with salt on both side. Then we sprinkle sugar too in both side too. Our teacher gave us a small piece of rope and we tied up the raw meat. Gave it to the teacher and they hang it up on a string near the window and peg it. We need to still wait for 3 days.
This is my instruction.

1. Take your ingredients and your material.

      2.Thinly slice the steak into ⅛ inch thick strips and put the steak into (the freezer 15-30 minutes before slicing the steak so it is easier to cut.)

3.Put the strips of steaks in a large  small mixing bowl.

4.In a small mixing bowl, whisk all of the remaining ingredients until it’s combined. Mix it.

   5.Put the small mixing bowl  in  the fridge for 30 minutes or 1 day.

6.After 30 minute or 1 day Get the small mixing bowl from the fridge, take the meat out of the small mixing bowl.

7. Hang it on a string near your window and leave it for 3 days.

8.After 3 days get the meat and serve it to a shiny plate.

Here is the result and what the salt did to the raw meat.

What do salt do to raw meat?

• The salt dries the meat by inhibiting the growth of the bacteria in the meat by putting the water out of the Microbial cells/ Bacteria. The water that dries out goes through the membrane/a barricade that only allows liquid through it. That how it dries out.

What do sugar do to raw meat? The sugar make the raw meat tender.It makes it tough and
 chewy.

Philipines Independence day

Hi guys today we are going to learn about the Philippines.

This week we have been celebrating Filipino week by playing traditional games like Patingtero. We have been using the greeting of the Philippines to say good morning/ Magandang Umaga and good afternoon/ Magandang hapon.On June 12 we are going to celebrate independence day. Independence day started on June 12 1898, It has been there for 123 years. Independence day is a sign of Kaalayan or Freedom. It was when President Emilio Aguinaldo raised the  Filipino flag. It was when the Filipino won against the Spanish and the Spanish colonized the Philippines for 333 years. The people that fought the war was Emilio Aguinaldo. Emilio is the military leader and he is the first and youngest president of the Philippines. He was born on March 22 1869, He was a hero in the Philippines. Here are some of the known heroes in the Philippines Jose Rizal, Andres Bonifacio, Apolinario Mabini,. Marcelo H. del Pilar,

Muhammad Dipatuan Kudarat, Juan Luna,Melchora Aquino. The 8 stripes of the sun on the filipino flag are the  provinces that are under martial law. Here are eight of them Manila, Cavite, Bulacan, Pampanga, Nueva Ecji, Tarlac, Laguna and Batangas.

Here are some of the facts about the Philippines. The Philippines has 7,641 islands. There are 170 languages in the Philippines and Basketball is the most popular sports in the Philippines.

Learning

Hi guys, Today I've been doing some fun stuff and im going to tell you what I've been doing. I've been doing the Homework books. The things I did in the homework books was math, Reading and Writing. After that I started doing some activities like math. On maths I started doing the weekly menu . The weekly menu is where you have 200$ and  you need to make a list of your shopping list for the whole week without passing 200$. I've been helping my sister with her homework and been playing with her.

Hi guys, Today I tried to fix my  Lego but I can't because their were missing parts so I tried to find the missing parts but I can''t find it so I put it away.After that I closed the garage and play with my sister and I helped her clean her room. Then I went outside helped my dad with the garden. When we were done I helped my dad fixed something. I did Japanese number and ESOL in my work books.

What I did Today

Today I played darts by myself because my sister doesn't want to play darts because she doesn't like the sharp end of the darts. When I was playing darts I didn't even hit the dartboard. After that I tried Soma cube, Soma cube is like a puzzle you have seven blocks and you need to try and build the stuff that is in the paper and you could check online for more stuffs to build. I've only done three stuffs in the paper.

Activities

Today I did protect stage 8 and I did Japanese It was really fun learning Japanese and learning more about math. In protect I did percentages to fraction and decimals to percentage. In Japanese all I did was to translate Japanese to English and English to Japanese.

Welcome back to my blog post! Yesterday in Hurumanu 5 we did long jump and we need to write how far we jumped and we get three jumps. After we have done that we make a graph in google sheet. I am going to teach you how to do it.

Step one you type how long you jumped.

Step five at the top right corner you find a graph in a box that says insert chart.
